FAQ

Common questions

What exactly am I agreeing to?

You’re pledging not to give your primary-school child a smartphone. Basic phones for calling and texting are fine — we have recommendations in our shop.

Why does the pledge go to Wait Mate?

Wait Mate runs the national pledge for Australia. Sending everyone there means one shared count, one place to sign, and far more weight behind the movement than a local list on its own.

Is my information kept private?

Port Stephens Unplugged does not collect or store your pledge details — the pledge is made directly with Wait Mate under their privacy policy. We only ever see aggregate numbers.

Can I pledge for more than one child?

Yes. The Wait Mate pledge form covers this — follow the prompts there for each of your children.
